خبر تلخ و مصیبت بار درگذشت معلم اخلاق و شرافت ، آیت الله حاج سید مهدی طباطبایی طاب ثراه جانکاه و طاقت فرساست.

این روحانی خدوم و شجاع، از یاران روزگار سختی امام و بیت امام بود و در طول زندگی خویش لحظه ای در شناخت حقیقت و عمل به آن تردید نکرد. همراهی ارزشمند ایشان با امام و اندیشه ایشان در سالهای قبل و بعد از انقلاب از زمره اموری است که هیچگاه فراموش نمی شود.

اینجانب این ضایعه مؤلمه را خدمت حضرت بقیة الله الاعظم ، مردم شریف تهران و بیت بزرگوار این فقید سعید تسلیت عرض می نمایم و از خدای متعال برای ایشان حشر با اولیاء الله مسئلت دارم
